INTRODUCTION
A. BACKGROUND
Al - washliyah means connecting, that connects a Muslim to the
author, to the people and to the environment. Ternasuk human relations,
solidarity memperkokoh al - ikhwah al - insaniyah (brotherhood), al - ikhwah al
- wathoniyah (brotherhood and my fellow countrymen) and al-ukwah al-Islamiyah

A.AL-WASLIYAH
STAND
Al
Jam'iyatul Washliyah an Islamic organization w hich was born on 30 November 1930
and 9 Rajab 1349 H coincide in the city of Medan, North Sumatra. Al Jam'iyatul
Washliyah better known as Al Washliyah born when the nation of Indonesia is
still in the colonial Dutch East Indies (Indie Nederlandsh). So that the
founders of Al Washliyah when it was partly fought against the Dutch
colonialists. Not a few of the leaders of Al Washliyah the Dutch captured and
thrown into prison.
The
main goal to establish Al Washliyah organization when it is to unite a people
broken to pieces and different views. Divisions and differences is one of the
Dutch strategy to keep power in the land of Indonesia. Therefore, the
organization also helped Al Washliyah Indonesia gained independence with the
people in Indonesian unity.
Dutch colonists who ruled the earth Indonesia continues to work for the Indonesian nation is not united, so that they continue to pit the people. Invaders all means do so that the people broken to pieces. Because if it is concerned that the Indonesian people united can fight pejajah Netherlands.

Efforts
to divide the people continue to penetrate to the joints of the Islamic
religion. Muslims at that time can be broken apart because of differences in
terms of worship and branches of religion (furu'iyah). This condition continued
tapered, until the Muslims are divided into two groups called by the old and
the young. Disagreement in the field of religion is getting more and more sharp
and to the point of unsettling.
With
disputes among Muslims in the city of Medan in North Sumatra in particular,
those students studying at Maktab Islamiyah Tapanuli field seeks to reunite
their divided people. Efforts to unite Muslims continue to do and eventually
formed the organization Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah which means connecting Society.
The point is to connect people with Allah Ta'ala. and connect people with
people (fellow Muslims).
Misunderstandings between the old with the young people on
the subject of worship. make the students studying at Maktab Islamiya madrassa
Tapanuli (MIT) Field fret. The students have a student association called
Debating Club (Society debate / discussion). In regular discussions in the
society is often discussed about the problems that occur in the middle of the
Muslims and one of the differences of opinion in the body of Muslims.
Discussions
reached a peak in October 1930. Earlier that month a meeting was held at the
residence of Yusuf Ahmad Lubis, on Jl. Glugur city of Medan. At a meeting led
by Abdurrahman Shihab attended by Yusuf Ahmad Lubis, Nur Adnan, M. Isa and
several other students. In the meeting it was agreed to increase the student
associations that they have the Debating Club. To follow up on the meeting
Yusuf Ahmad Lubis, hereinafter also held a second meeting in homes in Petisah
Abdurrahman Shihab, the city of Medan, which was attended by Banda Ismail,
Yusuf Ahmad Lubis, Nur Adnan, Abdul Wahab, and M. Isa. It was agreed at the
meeting to invite scholars, gentlemen teachers and other students at a larger
meeting planned for October 26, 1930 at Maktab Tapanuli Islamiyah (MIT) Medan.
As
planned, a larger meeting took place at MIT Medan. The meeting was attended by
scholars, teachers, students and Muslim leaders in the city of Medan and
surrounding areas. After long talks and deep enough, then all the participants
when it agreed to form an association which aims to promote, and add tersyiarnya
concerned with Islam.
Field
meeting at MIT is led by Ismail Banda as the oldest person at the time, and in
the forum also presented an explanation of the form of organization to be
established later. A description of the form of organization presented among
others by Ismail Banda, M. Talib arsyad Lubis and H. Syamsudin.
1.GIVE NAME OF ORGANIZATION
After
it was agreed to form an association and to listen to an explanation of the
form of organization to be formed, then the consent of the participants, sought
to one teacher in Maktab Tapanuli Islamiyah (MIT) field is Syech H. Muhammad
Yunus (a respected scholar) to give a suitable name for the association to be
formed. Efforts asked to provide the name of a scholar considered politeness or
good morals of a student to his teacher.
Shaykh
H. Muhammad Yunus attended by students does not necessarily answer that desire.
First he did pray two rak'ahs and praying to Allah. After that he came to the
disciples and said, "I think we call it the association with 'Al
Jam'iyatul Washliyah'." The name sounds wonderful and feels a bit foreign
in the ears of the students, and has not been heard before or similar to that.
Instantly it all who hear sejutu, with the name Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah. Al
Jam'iyatul Washliyah meaning is 'the Union is bound'.

Al Jam'iyah or imply association or associations.

So
that the meaning of Al Jam'iyatul Washliyah is Linking Association or the

2.OPENING AL WASHLIYAH
At
the date of 30 November 1930 held at Maktab Tapanuli Islamiyah (MIT) located on
Jl Medan. Hind Medan held back a larger meeting that gets the attention of
people around the vast city of Medan.
At
the meeting agreed on the Articles of Association and Bylaws (AD / ART) as well
as the first Al Washliyah stewardship. Since then resmilah Organization Al
Washliyah stand. Chairman Al Washliyah first submitted to Banda Ismail because

3.FOUNDERS AL WASHLIYAH
In
the history of the struggle of Islam in North Sumatra the eve of independence,
the founder of Al Washliyah are people who are very prominent in fighting for
Islam, both in the field of education, propaganda, social charity and in

MAKTAB TAPANULI ISLAMIYAH (MIT) FIELD
Maktab
Tapanuli Islamiyah (MIT) Medan, North Sumatra is a silent witness to the birth
of small madrasa Al Washliyah. This school can not be separated from the
history of the founding of Al Washliyah. Because this is where Al Washliyah
first inaugurated the dibidani by the school students.
In
the 1930s, MIT Medan is the only Islamic school in the city of Medan, then do

organization has a part of it as the central leadership and the highest level
