CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
A. Background

Indonesian nation itself.

to learn the English language.

authors formulate a paper entitled "determiner" in order to fix a few
of the mistakes in the formulation.

english as a lecture in the teaching-learning process and hopefully this paper

DISCUSSION
A. Definitions Determiner
Determiner is a word that is put in front
of the noun, which serves to clarify the meaning of the noun form in which a
combination of a noun phrase.
B. Types Determiner
Determiner is
divided into two parts:
1. General Determiner and
2. Specific Determiner
1. General Determiner
General determiner is a determiner of a
general nature and does not indicate with certainty that the noun clarified.
2. Specific determiner
Specific determiner is a determiner that
show a clear specifik noun.
C. Distribution Determiner
1. General
determiner is divided into three parts:
a. indefinite
article
indefinite article is used on things
(nouns) that are not specific include: person (people), thing (object), and the
idea (thought). The purpose of "non-specific" is not referring to a
person, object, or idea, but talking in general. Indifinite article comprising:
a / an
example: a book or an umbrella
b. quantifier
quantifier is a determiner is used to
indicate how many number of things. Quantifier consists of: many, few, several,
acouple, none of, not much, a litle etc.
Example: Assume that many people his life is Perfected, He only has
few ties to Attend the meeting
c. distributive
distributive is a word that is put in front
of the noun (noun), which serves to clarify the meaning of noun
tersebut.distributive consists of: all and every
example: All students at the school passed the final exam, Every
citizen has the right to use the public infrastructure.
2. Specific
determiner is divided into three parts:
a. definite
article
article definite article is used in terms
of (noun) specifically. Consists of the definite article: the
example: The place that I just visited is cozy
b. demonstrative
adjective
determiner or demonstrative adjective is a
special adjective used to describe the noun in terms of distance (distance) and
number (number). Determiner has a form identical to the demonstrative pronoun.
Demonstrative adjective consists of: this, that, these and those.
Example: this book, that car, these mangoes, those bottles
c. possessive
adjective
possesive determiner or adjective is a
special adjective is used to indicate possession (possession) of the possessive
adjective noun consists of my, your, his, her, its, our, and their.
Example: my books, your father, our class, their rule, his shorts,
her skirt, its tail.

So what can we say about
the subject matter in this paper, of course, there are still many shortcomings
and weaknesses, because they lack the knowledge and the lack of reference or
the reference has to do with the title of this paper.
